Sydney McKenna from a small city in B.C. completed her BFA in Fine Arts at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design University (NSCAD) in 2016. From there her work focuses on her fragmented memories of her childhood versus the constantly changing urban environments different from home.  Her awareness of human's primal fear of death led to a fascination of the human psyche and our notions of decay. She's observes how decaying animals and discarded objects became more palatable to see when they were being overgrown and reclaimed by the earth.
